Rules & Regulation
Membership:
1. Membership of the library is open to all bonafide students and employees of the college. Membership is not allowed to outsiders. 2. To become a member one has to apply in a prescribed form which can be had from library branch. 3. Library Card will be issued for borrowing of books from the library. Three cards will be issued to the students and office staff while teachers can avail five cards. 4. Members shall be required to renew the Reader’s Card annually. 5. Membership of library and use of Reader’s Card are not transferable.
Hours of opening:
1. The library shall be kept open on all working days from 9 am to 4 pm. However, the duration and timing of library is subject to change depending on requirement. 2. Normally books shall be issued during afternoon hours while the members may return the book during forenoon. 3. The counter (issue & receive) shall be closed one hour before the closing of the library.
Issue and return of Books:
1. The book shall be issued to the bonafide card holder for a period of 14 days (two weeks). The borrower must return the book within the stipulated time failing which a fine of Re. 1 (one) per day will be charged. 2. When the borrower leaves the station, he/she must return the books issued to them even before expiry of the borrowing period. 3. Reference books, rare books, dictionary, encyclopaedias, etc. are not to be issued. These materials could be used/read in the library premises. 4. The librarian reserves the right to recall any books from the borrower at any point of time even before the expiry of 14 days duration. 5. Members who repeatedly fail to return books on due date will lose the privilege of membership of the library.
Loss & Damage of books:
1. In the event of missing of Library Card, the card holder must report the matter immediately to the librarian. However, if the matter is not reported to the librarian and eventually books are issued against the missing cards, the responsibility will be fixed on the card holder. 2. On receipt of proper missing report of cards, fresh/duplicate Library Cards will be issued by charging Rs. 10 per card.
Loss of Reader’s card:

Change of address:
A Library Card holder/member must inform the office (librarian) in writing about any change of address. This will ensure safety and faster correspondences during exigency.
Journal, Magazine & News Paper:
1. Journals, Magazines, News Papers, etc. are meant for reading in the library premises and must be kept properly after using them. 2. These materials are neither to be picked up/take away nor to be damage/tear. Anyone who indulges such mischievous act will be punished including debar from membership and imposition of penalty.
Issue of Clearance certificate:
1. It is mandatory for students to obtain clearance certificate from the library for issuance of certificate, admit card from university examinations, re-fund of caution money, etc. 2. The employees are also to require obtain library clearance certificate for getting release order from the college. 3. Clearance certificate will only be issued on return of all books issued and settlement of any other dues.
Restrictions:
1. Maintaining of pin drop silence is the pre-requisite for anyone to enter inside the library premises and uses of library facilities. 2. Except registered members no one will be allowed to enter inside the library. Non-member may be allowed for short duration with proper permission from the authority. 3. Carrying any belongings such as begs, books, umbrella, overcoats, eatables, etc. inside the reading room is strictly prohibited. All such items are to be kept at the entry point/cloak counter. 4. Spiting, smoking and using of any unwanted substances are strictly prohibited. 5. No person shall damage or disfigure/torn books or other properties of the library. If anyone does this he/she shall have to replace such books or properties damaged or injured or make payment for the value thereof. 6. No one is allowed to carry any reading materials including books, journals, magazines, news papers, etc. from the library to outside the premises. 7. Books and other study materials are kept in the shelves in a particular manner for easy access/location. If a users take out any book from shelve, the same book must be either kept on the reading table or put it exactly in the space from where the book has been taken out. 8. Violation of any aforesaid restrictions shall invite disciplinary action including debarment from admission and using of library facilities and penalties too.
