The department of English in Government College Doimukh started functioning from the year of its establishment in 2012. The department has been offering instruction for the award of degrees for B.A. One of the major responsibilities of the department is the “General English Course”. The degree comes in all subjects including two compulsory English Papers, one in the first semester and the other in the second semester of the degree programme.
The papers aim to develop not only writing and communication skills of the students but also aesthetic skills. The courses are framed with the objective to enable the students to have practical command of the elementary grammatical structure, basic skills of written communication and comprehension in English.
